Plantation Golf & Country Club is a premier facility in south Sarasota County with a fantastic ballroom overlooking our beautifully landscaped property and grounds. Our banquet facility is expandable to fit groups from 50 up to 500 with a full dance floor space and private bar area as well. The best thing to do is to come in for a full tour of our facility and introduction to our menu and pricing. Our Catering Department here at Plantation is comprised of a fantastic of team of professionals, led by our experienced managers. Jessica Madsen, Director of Catering, has been with Plantation since 2007 and coordinated 275+ weddings and counting. Kayla Hilton, Assistant Catering Manager, began in October of 2017 to give even more specialized service and hands on event coordination. What types of events can you accommodate? Mainly weddings. But we can do other events as well. What are your ceremony options? We offer the Oaks for three days. The day before for setup, decorating and rehearsal. The day of. And the day after for cleanup. Most people choose to have their wedding under the oak tree canopy, and their reception in the barn, but others have opted to have their wedding in the barn as well. (Also an option in case of rain) What is your capacity for any event? We are rated for 210 in the barn, but usually recommend 150 and under unless they choose to bring in additional tents. What is your deposit amount to reserve the room & date? We require a $1,000 deposit, but break it into $500 due at time of signing the contract, and $500 due 30 days after receipt of the contract. What is the food & beverage price range? We allow the couple to provide their own caterers. We also offer a bar b w pad if they want to have onsite bar b q cooking. What are some complimentary rental items you include? Our venue rental includes the three days, the brides room, grooms room, caterers corner, claw foot tubs for sodas, water, etc., restrooms, fire pit and wood, whiskey barrel bar, ceremony site with rustic woodland benches, and tables and chairs for the reception for up to 150 people. Also includes the barn curtains, chandeliers, and lighting. We have also just completed a 30 x 24 outdoor area perfect for dining or dancing under the stars. Nested among the oak trees out Bermont Road in Punta Gorda, Florida is this week’s Vendor of the Week- Cypress M. Ranch. I sat down with the owner, Lisa MacArthur, who is currently booking weddings for 2019 to learn a little more about her gem of a property. Tell me a little history about Cypress M. Ranch? Cypress M. Ranch has been here for 14 years as a horse ranch and currently in its fourth wedding season. What is your wedding season? We run weddings every weekend from October through May 1st. What is included in the wedding rental? Full use of the grounds, the barn, the bridal suite, the cowboy quarters, the kitchen, 2 restrooms, parking location and staff including trash removal and bomb fire prep. 3 hours for rehearsal and set up the day before. All day from 9 am to midnight on the day of the event and 2 hours the following day for pick up and clean up. What are the ceremony location options? The couple can choose between the 2 different pasture locations, under the oak trees or in front of the barn. What are some additional benefits to the ranch? We have bistro lighting around the property built right in. There are restrooms on site so you do not have to rent any and we have a brand new full kitchen. The barn also has drop down sides to help with rain and wind. For various fees, brides and/or grooms can ride in on a horse or we can also get the horse and carriage. We also have swamp buggies as well for grand entrances. Tell me about the bridal cabin? It is an all wood loft cabin with a bed, full bath, refrigerator, seating area and prep area for bridal hair and makeup. Designed completely country chic with a chandelier and all. Tell me about the new cowboy quarters? Designed with the guys in mind the cowboy quarters has a bar, lounge furniture and rocking chairs in an enclosed air conditioned environment. Tell me about your new kitchen area? The new kitchen area has all stainless steel, commercial grade appliances- refrigerator, warmers, BBQ grill and prep stations. Tell me a little about the live band you have available? The Florida Cracker Boys specialize in playing county, blues and southern rock n' roll. How many years has Heron Creek been here in North Port: The Clubhouse has been here for nearly 13 years. What type of events can you have at Heron Creek: Anniversary parties, baby showers, quinceanera's, charity events, chamber events, sweet 16's, rehearsal dinners, bridal showers and weddings. What are your ceremony options: You can get married at the top of the golf course hill, down by the fountain, on the pool deck or out on the verandah. Each ceremony selection fee is $150.00 which includes breakdown. What is the capacity for a reception here: We can fit up to 150 in our main dining area. We also have an adjacent room that can open directly to the main dining and hold an additional 50 guest. What is your deposit amount to reserve the room and date: $500.00 is the deposit amount and the room rental rate for 4 hours that includes set up, break down, all standard white linens and a permanent dance floor. What is the price range for your catering selections: Our food and beverage packages can be customized with average plate ranges from $30-$45 with specialty plates ranging up to $80 a plate. Do you have a cake cutting fee: No additional fee to cut the cake What are some of the rental items already included in your packages: You get standard white linens, various colored napkins, all glassware, dinnerware and silverware. The use of our standard tables and chairs inside the clubhouse. Full use of the verandah. We have complimentary mirrors and votive candles to accent your decor.
